raisins, psychodots

here's vid of the raisins, a buncha cincinnati musos who went on to play with adrian belew in the bears later in the '80s and still later, changed their name to the psychodots to avoid confusion with the _california_ raisins (jayzus!). their music is nifty pop-rock with a prodigously talented gtrist called rob fetters (the one w/the whiteguy afro in the clip). a decade or so ago, the psychodots were the fave band of my drummer from college (who convinced me to move to tejas after he saw the sex pistols at the bronco bowl, and whose musical tastes were broad enough to encompass rory gallagher, captain beefheart, and tony williams) and i listened to their self-titled debut cd (which included the song performed in the vid by the raisins -- confused yet?) plenty during the interval in late '97 when i was driving to dallas three times a week to sit in with various barbands. good times.
