random bits

1) the best anti-smoking device i've discovered is hall's mentol eucalyptus lozenges. aided by these (and the fact i was sick as a dog w/respiratory crud for over two wks), i've been able to avoid bumming smokes for two entahr jams and one entahr stoogeshow. thanks to dave "gum or candy?" karnes for the idea.

2) since i started working at the market, i typically see four to six ppl i know from elsewhere in the course of a workday there: folks i usedta work with at radioshack (including the former ceo, who didn't appear to recognize me), music buds, ppl who've apparently been to the jam or stoogeshows (including some current coworkers), others who know my wife or dtr. this is an oddly centering experience.

3) i'm realizing that most of what i think of as the "haltom city-riverside crew" (me-thinks et al.) actually resides in oakhurst. duh.

4) since i'm earning a fraction of the $$$ i usedta make at the advo gig, we've had to curtail our attendance at lotsa shows it woulda been nice to have made it to. while this is somewhat of a drag on one level (esp. if the show in question is one by buds who regularly come to the jam or stoogeshows), living within one's means is an unalloyed good thang, and in line with our, um, core values 'n' principles 'n' like that.
