365 days / 365 plays
damn. i thought tammy gomez was an overachiever for writing a poem every day for a yr, but starting on november 13, 2002, pulitzer prize-winning playwright suzan-lori parks wrote a short _play_ every day for a yr, all under the rubric 365 days/365 plays. now they're being performed by theater troupes all over the country, including gomez' sound culture group right here in the fort. sound culture's plays, directed by a round robin that includes gomez, jubilee theater honcho ed smith, and latin arts association's yvonne duque, among others, will be performed at jubilee on april 2nd and 3rd. the performances will be filmed for inclusion in a national archive; some of 'em are already popping up on youtube. dig it!

all right, it may *seem* easy,
but it scares me ****less some
days when i'm staring at a
blank blog screen and the
clocking is ticking towards
the next day.
i can't be nonplussed cuz i know
for a fact that poet/scribes 'round the country (published, awarded types) are mos def checking out some of my daily scratchins'. i can sometimes feel 'em breathin' done my neck.
thanks for bringing notice to this, wait, omigod, more people breathin'....
