charlie haden doco

director reto caduff has filmed a documentary on charlie haden, the titanic jazz bassist (ornette coleman, liberation music orchestra, keith jarrett, quartet west), political activist (arrested leaving portugal in 1971 for dedicating his "song for che" to angolan freedom fighters; recorded not in our name in response to bush's re-election) and father (his progeny include bassist josh and musical triplets petra, tanya, and rachel). the flick is skedded to premiere at the zurich film festival on halloween, and a dvd release is planned for 2008.
