lou reed and robert quine

here's some bbc footage i hadn't seen before of uncle lou in '84 with the great robert quine, who left the planet 20 yrs later but still too soon, on gtr. the sound on these is much better than it was on those vids from the 1983 italian tour where lou looks like joe piscopo, and they play toons from one of my fave lou albs, legendary hearts. quine's working out of those same blues boxes as steve hunter does, but i dig his more idiosyncratic, whammy bar happy approach real much. by this point in time, he was just touring with lou for the money, but he still puts his heart, soul, and guts into his playing.
