lou reed's "berlin"

well well well. uncle louie made a film of his '73 depresso epic concept alb berlin. it's directed by julian schnabel (the diving bell and the butterfly), with some of his best musical collaborators from over the years (alfonso johnson, anthony, rob wasserman, steve hunter from mitch ryder's detroit) and sharon jones of dap kings fame, a seven piece orchestra and a kids' choir helping out. my buddy geoff from philly was at one of the 2006 shows in brooklyn where they filmed it. he said it was the shit. it's out on dvd october 8th. hooray!
