a righteous cat, indeed. i remember watching him on sesame street when i was a kid and my 'ma telling me all 'bout him as she's a big fan. think she might even have seen him live once, or was that harry belafonte? not sure how i could mix the two of them up, but i always dug perlman getting down with kermit and the spiel he'd always give about teaching kids about people with disabilities. pretty powerful stuff on a child mind. the traditional jewish music he wailed was pretty wild on my youthful ears too and i dug it. thanks for helping me clear out the cobwebs and dig up some old memories.
