somebody else's yoof

how appropriate that on the same day that townshend was lambasting mike myers for "trivializing" swinging london, farren posted a link to some pics of a rave on eel pie island back when that meant beer and trad jazz rather than ecstasy and techno, revealing that the brit beatnik girls he was lusting after in 1960 looked an awful lot like the 'meercun rockaroll girls i was lusting after in 1973. (in case you didn't know, the island was a kind of socially engineered teen paradise that played a seminal part in the development of brit rock culcha.) said pics also inspahrd him to post one of my favorite of his poems, which i first encountered on his deathray tapes alb in '96, back when the world was approaching middle age.
