this weekend/next week

i'm off today, and have three days off next week (wednesday through friday -- i'm hoping to be able to hook up a stooge prac before my sweetie 'n' i make a trip to austin to see t. tex edwards at lovejoy's), then i'll need to ask off work saturday to attend the funeral of my ex-lead singer/harpman hosea robinson on saturday. hosea passed on thursday from congestive heart failure. we had our ups and downs over the years, but what i choose to remember about hosea is the sheer joy he took in performing at the beginning of our association, and some laughs and good times we had hanging around his house when he and i were no longer playing together. then sat'day night, we have the hentai improvising orchestra show at lola's 6th -- about as far from what i usedta play with hosea as you can get.
