decrepitude

i told my middle dtr's friend mimi, whom i stayed with while i was in austin this last trip, that when you get older, fat 'n' bald ppl don't necessarily look old to you, because you can visualize the way they used to look when they were young. not only that, i told her, "but i can see what ppl yr age are going to look like when they get old. [a friend of hers who now lives in brooklyn] already has that crinkly-around-the-eyes old man grin." that's one reason why i'm saddened (and a little angry, too) that fraf's gone -- he was going to be a really cool old man, with lots of good stories to tell the youngsters.
