last time around
b.b. king just announced his farewell tour. he's 80. he's been touring for 60 yrs now. sez b.b., "sinatra sang about 'the september of my yrs.' i'm in the _november_ of my yrs." and that, friends, is the way to grow old.

well, i can't say he doesn't deserve it. the man has most def put in his time and deserves a rest.
i was somewhere last week on an escalator (think it was at the 76ers game? dunno..) and heard "everyday i have the blues." love that tune, although i've never been a huge fan of b.b.'s. not that i don't admire and repsect the hell out of him, just never was one of my fav bluesmen (i'll take elmore james or john lee hooker over him anyday.) whatever... just a matter of taste, i guess.
my wife digs b.b. much. she went to one of his shows 'bout 6 years ago at this old art deco movie palace converted into a concert gig hall up where she grew up. 6th row center or something like that. she said he cranked it out big time and wailed all night. i should probably have her get me into more of his material.
i got a copy of "b.b. king: live at the regal" somewhere that i should dig out. might've given it to my pop... dunno. anyway, i'll end this jumbled spiel by wishing b.b. and lucille a happy goodbye and a lovely retirement together. cheers!
