the day john lennon died
i woke myself up spilling a glass of water on my head as the radio kicked on
then my future ex-wife came and picked me up to go to work
as we were driving by the apt ofc i noticed someone had torched it overnight
was working in a rekkid store then
arrived at the j-o-b to find a line of the saddest beatlefreaks ever
worse than the elvis fans at my store in ny the day he croaked

Hi Ken,
I too was working at a record store that day. It really sucked as every Beatle record in the store was sucked from the shelves by greaving fans.
I remember a local radio station came out to interview folks. When they approached me, all I could say was something along the lines of 'how sad it was that all these people were bummed coz a member of the Beatles died and they would never get back together again. John Lennon, a human being, husband, lover, Dad and leading spokesman for a generation / humanitarian had died.'
Needless to say this was not what they wanted to hear, being as they too were all hung up on the Fab Fours demise... Goofy Bastards!
