downloading = listener apathy?

some interesting food for thought here. i kinda usedta think the same thing about the number of venues here in the fort that don't charge cover to hear live music. devaluing the currency and all that. i dunno.

ditto for me on the whole "Ipod revolution" mikey. if i had 1,000 tunes in the palm of my hand, i could NEVER picked what i wanted to hear and when/if i did, chances are i'd wanna hear something else just as quickly 'cause it's all right there in front of you. i like listening to albums as a whole much better, AND the pure physicality of holding in your hands the very tape/disc/LP you wish to hear. the covers, the liner notes, the freakin' SMELL of a vintage piece of vinyl or newly unwrapped disc (to a lseer degree, of course.) oh, baby...

yeah, a happening tune is good from time to time, but a whole record hand crafted by a beloved artist is meant to be played in it's entirety. that's ma 2 cents.
